Where is it found each moment? Where does that incessant search end that feels like life but really is the lack, when we choose to find everyday replacements that fade with enough time? I know in lucidity that it is a great looking copy easier to control than the unseen reality, which truly we only catch fleeting glimpses of and work so much harder for. I recognize it yet that missing piece u can’t get through a facebook request remains tantalizingly out of reach as long as I try – as long as I’m the sole source of extreme effort, it fails each time. Yet that control drives us to the end – it has to be something we can figure out, right? Because that fear of giving it up denies me right? Or does it? But the house of cards that looks like a fort inside beliesthat belief. There still is only One no matter what I build. I hate that and love it. Tomorrow who wins? In 5 minutes what choice gets made big or small to further the end game already predecided but still unknown to our punitive ideas..

So, today, my quest for a new printer should culminate in acquisition. I have 3 Fry’s gift certificates in my pocket thanks to my mom and sister, and having a recent birthday hit close to Christmas. I’ve done 2 scouting missions to Fry’s already and feel I have a comfortable grasp on what I want despite the bazillion fry’s salespeople feeble attempts to ‘help’ me (seriously, it completely bewilders me why Fry’s still follows the outdated commission model on printers – it destroys the idea of actual knowledge in place of just getting the sale. And, I have to add a gripe: the Fry’s in Plano at 75 and Plano Parkway does a horrible job of providing information. There are little drawers under each printer that are SUPPOSED to contain information but almost every drawer is empty, the ones that aren’t are a mess or have info on older models and Fry’s hides the actual printer boxes in the back do you can’t even rely on them for info)
Fast forward a few hours: sweet accomplishment! I went to the Fry’s on 635 towards the airport and the sales force was non invasive. Well, more like non interested and non working. After over fifteen minutes inspecting the printers with nary a sighting, I finally went over a couple of isles and spotted a bunch of them chatting so I picked off the weak one of the herd, got a price match and walked out with a Canon Pixma MX860

This is my brand new blog. You might wonder why I’d have a new blog when I already have so many blogs out there? Well, it’s called “optimism”. You see, when I first started blogging it was just my notes pasted on a random site. Over time, technology has evolved, yet I still have an issue of streamlining – getting all of my blogs to have centralized control. What do I mean? Well, I have many readers on www.2old2play.com so I want them to see my blogs. I have Twitter followers. There are many friends on Facebook. Etc, etc.
What I WANT and don’t know how to do yet (and hope to discover quickly) is a single place where I can POST a blog and it populates everything else with centralized control. Also, as a subset of that, I’d like to edit my blogs from my iPhone. Well, Wordpress allows editing from the iPhone if you have a version 2.something or above. My blog version 1 on my taitlifto.net site was the built in blogger utilizing wordpress, but it was a 1.x version, so I couldn’t use the iPhone version. I had to install a MySQL database, upload config files for WordPress 2.9 (after configuring) and create a new blog (to avoid the risk of overwriting my old one) and give it ago and… it WORKS, so now I’m typing this with increased optimism but still a lot of work to do.
Wish me luck (or if you’re technically minded, maybe some advice)
Merry Christmas
Tait
